Tom Murphy is the Owner and President of the largest entertainment company in Cancun, Mexico. He represents 28 shows, 25 bands, while hiring up to fifty musicians and dancers each week and manages numerous technical workers in the production of shows, bands, events & weddings and he carries inventories of production and event equipment.
Mr. Murphy is a Producer, Writer, Director, Videographer, Lighting and Audio Designer and sometimes gets to design costumes and sets for his shows. He coined the term “Theatrical Dance Shows” after creating an entertainment genre that allows international audiences to enjoy dance show entertainment that tells a story, without having to know the local language. In shows like his original creations Havana Nights, Exotic, and Hacienda de Sisal a story line is presented with dance and music.
He has produced and directed runway fashion shows, music videos, New Years Eve celebrations, beach parties, incentive events and gala night shows. Mr. Murphy has produced over 2,000 shows and events and inventory’s 150 musicians, 200 dancers and complete dance companies in New York City, Los Angeles and Dallas.
Mr. Murphy has transformed talented lounge bands into highly successful concert shows by evoking those artist’s strongest songs, guidance of their most exciting musical sets and his direction of better dramatic presentation to achieve wider commercial audience appeal and financial success, while advising musicians of recording song selections and producing their musical recordings.
In the famous Cancun Riviera, Tom Murphy created the longest, continuously running show in Cancun, a fast-paced Cirque On Stage show featuring circus artists from Cuba, Russia, Mexico, Canada and the United States, based on the popular Cirque du Soleil. He is considered an expert in the direction of resort entertainment.
